From 2018 to 2020, the Video Game Development Club at NCSU’s main club project was Harlow’s Wallpaper, a virtual reality horror game in which the player is trapped in a room and must solve puzzles to escape.

I wore a lot of hats on this project, especially as it changed dramatically in both its scope and direction over the course of its long development. I designed the puzzles, mechanics, and short narrative of the game. I also contributed to their implementation as well as lighting, particle effects, and audio.

Beyond my individual contributions, I led a team of fellow students of widely ranging skill levels, ensuring alignment and organization through documentation and clearly assigned action items with check-in and target completion dates, as well as providing a space for new developers to learn.

Working on the sound design for this game was also the catalyst for my experimentation with developing my own binaural microphone.
